Corrado VR6 with Distr.

The SLC (Sports Luxury Coupe)1992-1995:
Equipped with the 2.8L VR6 engine. The SLC model produced 178bhp due to a slightly larger catalytic converter than other VR6 cars. The Jetta and Golf GTI VR6 have 174bhp stock. The wonderful thing about the VR6 engine is its narrow angle cylinder banks. They are separated by a mere 15 degrees rathers than the typical 60 or 90 degree engines used in many other cars. This makes the engine able to fit into a very small area. Many VW enthusiasts put the VR6 engine into small cars such as A2 GTI's, Cabriolets, and Rabbits. But everyone knows that the VR6 was made for the Corrado. :)

There are some subtle differences that you may not know about between the 1992 SLCs and the 1993-94 SLCs.

-92s came with BBS mesh syle rims. 93s* came with Speedline 5-spoke rims.

-93s* have a more modern (rounded) looking dash than the 92. (Pictures soon)

-92s have a tiny lip around the rear bumper. 93s* do not.

-93s have differnt guage faces that feature the word "Corrado" as well as red guage needles. 92s have the traditional white needle and amber lights.

-93s have a sunroof that will close when locking the doors with the key. 92s can not close their sunroof with the key.

-some 93+ VR6 engines are distributorless and use a coil-pack instead.

-the power window buttons are located on the map pocket in 93s* whereas on a 92, they are located in the door.

-93s* came stock with two extra guages located below the ashtray. Oil pressure and voltage meter.

*Note: The reference "93s" referd to 93-94 SLCs. 1995 was the last year of the Corrado but very few were made in a special edition called the Corrado Storm.
